How has the first month of summer gone?! J  Have you been out wheeling and having fun?  We just got home yesterday from the first ever Unlimited Off-Road Expo in Louisville, Kentucky.  What a great show…I am really looking forward to the Epic East getting more attention!  A couple weeks before that I survived the trip to Baja chasing a group that rented a truck from Driven Experiences.   Driven Experiences is ‘the only’ professional Trophy Truck Drivers School with an option to race at the end.  The facility is located in Gateway, Colorado, just a short hour from Moab…if you are ever interested, tell the guys at the school Hello for me!

I wanted to send an ‘American Themed’ Shirt, and this one has always caught my eye as unique.  We did a big project for JE Reel including these cool playing cards – be sure to put them in your RV for a rainy day!  The third ‘swag’ is a magazine that you probably haven’t seen before.  Please take time to look through it and read below about their non-profit Thundering Trails program where they take kids from poor backgrounds offroading!  Thank you! ~Charlene

Mission Statement: At Advance Adapters Inc., we design, engineer , and manufacture unsurpassed Powertrain and 4-Wheel-Drive after market products. Our award-winning history of innovation and expertise ensures we provide quality craftsmanship as we serve our customers with knowledge and integrity.
advance adaptersAdvance Adapters started in 1971 starting with a single adapter mating a Muncie car 4-speed to a Jeep Dana 18 transfer case. The popularity of this kit grew, and Advance Adapters soon found itself venturing into a variety of vehicles and adapters.   At the time, Advance Adapters also carried a full line of 4WD aftermarket accessories.  Their next move was to venture into the manufacturing of additional components to compliment the already established adapter business. Headers, motor mounts, overdrives, and linkage brackets now became part of the Advance Adapters product line.  In 1977, it was time to move out of Los Angeles and moved north, about 250 miles, to the small town of Paso Robles on the Central Coast of California.  They started out occupying 10,000 sq.ft. of machining & warehouse with a 2,000 sq.ft. detached office, then added another 12,500 sq.ft. of warehouse space in 1984. This extra square footage was to house the winch business (Sidewinder Winch) that was purchased. In 1989, they realized that the winch business was more than they could handle alongside the heavy growing popularity of the adapter business. They sold this product line and decided to down-size and just do what they do best – adapters.  In late 1995, the 4WD industry took a turn toward rock crawling. The product line offered many options for good, low ratio transmission swaps; however, the avid 4-wheeler was looking for more. Thus, they ventured into the ultra-low gear transfer case business (the Atlas Transfer Case).  As of 1998, this nearly 44,000 sq.ft. facility houses all production, fabrication & administration. We have one of the most modern machining & manufacturing facilities found on the Central Coast.

S&S Offroad MagazineAbout S&S Off Road Magazine: In 1982 Steve & Sherri Kukla founded San Diego Off Road Magazine which grew to serve off road enthusiasts far beyond the county of San  Diego. Moving to the off road community of Ocotillo Wells CA in 2004, they  incorporated as S&S Publishing, Inc. shortly thereafter and in January 2010 changed the name of the magazine to S&S Off Road Magazine.

Side Note to the Magazine, but Important to Point Out -> Thundering Trails camps was founded by Steve & Sherri in 2006 to provide mini bike riding adventures for kids from disadvantaged backgrounds. Kids come to camp for free and spend the weekend having a blast with mini bikes, hiking, campfire, treasure hunts, games, chapel service, s’mores, great food and just hanging out with dedicated adult mentors.

Many of them have a parent in prison, some are homeless, some have parents on drugs and others come from low income single parent homes. The camp is operated on the 50-acre off road ranch in Ocotillo Wells owned by Steve & Sherri. Approximately 4-8 times a year during the months of October through April a group of 10-12 kids come to camp for a fun-filled weekend desert adventure.

Thundering Trails is a California non-profit corporation and all donations are extremely welcome and tax-deductible. Visit our website by clicking on the camp photo to learn more about the camp! For more information or to make a donation visitwww.thunderingtrailsoffroadcamp.org or to see hundreds of camp photos visit http://www.facebook.com/thunderingtrails

This magazine is very popular on the West Coast, focused on the race series, racers and people that are part of our community giving everyone a fair shake at some print.  Sherri has been awesome to work with and prints a lot of Bower Media supplied content.  Yes, you can subscribe and have it delivered.
